The story
“I started at the bedside. I never really left it.”
For twenty-five years I have worked in healthcare, and nearly all of it has come back to the same small, holy thing: a person, frightened or hurting, and the privilege of being steady for them. I learned at the bedside that medicine is not only what we prescribe; it is how present we are while we do it.
I went back for my advanced-practice license because I wanted to do more than carry out a plan. I wanted to help write it. So I opened Felina Sno Wellness, and later stepped into psychiatric care through Elaion Mental Health. Two businesses, built while I was still working clinical, without a map.
The mentoring grew from the same root as everything else. I had walked the whole path the hard way, and I wanted to leave a road for the clinicians coming up behind me.
